Same Day Appliances
Terms & conditions

Clear information about our additional appliance warranty, reporting a fault, cancellation and installation. Your appliance's condition, intended use and agreed warranty are confirmed before you order and recorded on your invoice.

Ordering, stock and prices

Confirm the exact appliance, model, condition, photographs, price and availability with Same Day Appliances before ordering. Sold examples are not available to purchase. Graded appliances may have disclosed cosmetic marks or replacement packaging; refurbished appliances have previously been used, checked and cleaned. We describe the particular item's condition before you agree to buy.

We confirm the total appliance price, delivery charge, installation service and payment arrangements before the order is agreed. Any obvious pricing error is explained before an order is accepted. Where payment after suitable installation is offered, you can inspect the delivered appliance before payment under the agreed arrangement.

Delivery, access, installation and recycling

Delivery is subject to stock, postcode, access and the agreed delivery run. Same-day delivery is not guaranteed. The delivery slot, ground-floor or upstairs charges and any additional work are confirmed before ordering. Tell us about stairs, lifts and access restrictions in advance; we will not undertake an unsafe delivery.

Free standard installation and old-appliance recycling apply only where included in the agreed offer and suitable connections and access are available. Integrated installation requires separate agreement and may have an additional charge. Parts or extra plumbing work are not automatically included; any charge is explained and agreed before paid work. Electric cookers are delivery only: we do not install, disconnect or electrically connect them.

The warranty and returns terms below are the same policy as our warranty details page (opens in a new tab). They do not override rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Your legal rights are separate from our warranty. For consumer purchases, goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality, taking account of their age, price and disclosed condition. Our contractual warranty does not replace or reduce those rights. A warranty expiry is not, by itself, a reason to refuse a valid statutory claim.

1. Warranty periods and when cover starts

Cover starts on the date of delivery. Standard domestic refurbished cover is 4 months and standard graded cover is 6 months, including graded new and 28-day-return graded stock.

Any separately agreed extended cover must be confirmed in writing. Repairing or replacing an appliance or fitting a spare part does not automatically restart this additional warranty; the remaining original period continues, unless we agree an extension. This does not limit statutory remedies. A covered fault reported during the warranty period is not refused simply because an appointment takes place afterwards.

2. Reporting a fault and your remedies

Contact Same Day Appliances with your stock reference or model number, delivery date, a description of the problem and photographs or a short video if useful. An invoice, receipt or other reasonable proof of purchase is acceptable. Stop using the appliance if you suspect it is unsafe; do not attempt an unsafe repair.

Consumer rights for faulty goods

Consumers normally have a short-term right to reject qualifying faulty goods within 30 days. After that, a repair or replacement may be available, without charge and within a reasonable time without significant inconvenience. If the legal conditions are met—for example, an attempted repair or replacement does not resolve the problem—a price reduction or final rejection/refund may be available. We will not insist that you accept a repair where you are entitled to reject the goods.

For repair/replacement and related remedies, a fault discovered within the first six months is generally presumed to have existed at delivery unless we can show otherwise or the circumstances make that presumption inappropriate. These rights also apply to second-hand and graded goods, allowing for their disclosed condition and reasonable expectations.

Our additional 14-day repair promise

For a genuine fault covered by our additional warranty, if the appliance is not repaired within 14 days of reporting the fault, we will offer a comparable replacement. Your statutory rights may require a remedy sooner and remain available. We will agree the suitability of a replacement with you; we cannot guarantee the identical model, colour or match to other appliances in your home. We will not automatically downgrade your agreed warranty or require you to accept a materially inferior appliance because three months have passed.

Covered warranty repair or replacement is free. Parts removed during an agreed repair may be retained by us; this will not remove your rights concerning the appliance. Where statutory rejection or faulty-goods return rights apply, we bear the reasonable return/collection costs required by law.

3. Online and telephone cancellation / change of mind

For eligible consumer distance purchases, you can cancel before delivery or notify us within 14 days after receiving the appliance, without giving a reason. You then have a further 14 days from notifying us to return it. A personal purchase is not excluded merely because the appliance is graded or refurbished.

We refund the purchase price and standard outward delivery charge. Extra costs for a premium delivery choice need not be refunded. Where we have not offered to collect the appliance, we may withhold the refund until we receive it back or you provide evidence of return, whichever happens first, and will refund within the applicable 14-day deadline using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise.

For a non-faulty change-of-mind return, you pay the direct return cost only where this was disclosed before ordering. If you prefer us to collect, our invoice collection rate is £25.99 where that service is available and agreed; any different charge must be explained and agreed in advance. Collection is optional, not an automatic penalty or a deduction from a statutory faulty-goods refund.

You may inspect the appliance as you reasonably would in a shop. We do not require unopened packaging as a condition of cancellation. Where permitted by law, a deduction may reflect an actual loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the appliance's nature, characteristics and functioning. This is not a blanket no-refund rule for used or unpacked appliances.

The statutory distance-cancellation right generally concerns consumer purchases, not genuine business purchases. Faulty-goods claims are separate from change-of-mind cancellation and must not be treated as a chargeable voluntary return.

4. What our additional warranty does not cover

Our additional warranty does not cover a problem caused by deliberate damage, an accident after delivery, misuse, overloading, unsuitable external connections, damage while you transport/reinstall the appliance, or foreign objects such as coins, hair grips or bra wires. Cosmetic marks specifically described and agreed before sale are not new warranty faults.

Door-seal damage, mould or pump blockages are assessed on their cause; they are not automatically excluded if the problem is an inherent defect, was present at delivery or results from work for which we are responsible. Normal wear is assessed fairly against the item's age, price, condition and expected durability. An engineer's opinion does not replace your legal rights or an impartial assessment of the evidence.

If inspection establishes customer-caused damage or a problem outside the additional warranty, we can offer a chargeable repair. A £25.99 call-out charge applies only where explained and agreed before the visit and the circumstances justify it. We confirm other repair costs before doing paid work. We do not charge for assessment or remedies that we must provide free under consumer law, or void unrelated cover simply because a different part was misused.

5. Delivery and installation

Free standard installation is available for suitable appliances where included in the agreed offer. Tell us about access, stairs, plumbing and electrical fittings before delivery. Electric cookers are delivery only: we do not install or electrically connect them.

We perform any installation we provide with reasonable care and skill. Free installation does not excuse negligence or remove responsibility for damage caused by our failure to meet those duties. We do not exclude responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or other responsibility the law does not allow us to exclude.

You should ensure existing plumbing, sockets and connections are safe and tell us about known defects or unsuitable fittings. We may decline unsafe or unsuitable work and explain why. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects that we neither caused nor agreed to remedy, but this does not excuse careless handling or installation. You are not required to rely on your home insurance for damage for which we are legally responsible.

6. Contact, complaints and optional extended cover

Contact Same Day Appliances on 07854 220051 or WhatsApp. Tell us the outcome you are seeking; we will investigate and explain our response. If a dispute remains unresolved, we will provide any alternative-dispute-resolution information required for that complaint. You remain free to obtain advice or pursue a legal remedy.

Third-party extended cover is optional and is not needed to exercise your statutory rights. Check any provider's eligibility for graded/refurbished appliances, exclusions, excess, total cost and cover start date before buying. We do not promise a third-party price or cover not agreed with that provider.

This page explains our additional warranty and general after-sales process. The item-specific offer and invoice confirm what you purchased. This policy does not make a signature, original packaging or purchase of extra insurance a condition of your statutory rights.
